NLET’s Four Transformation “Cores”

At NLET, we believe that true transformation means moving beyond tradition and simple transitions. We shape new models powered by trusted, human-centered technology fit for the Age of AI: (1) Reintegrating math as a core part of learning and workforce training; (2) Pivoting education toward career and technical pathways that reflect the realities of today’s economy; (3) Helping to build U.S. capacity in semiconductor talent as the backbone for the AI Economy; (4) Opening the next biomedical frontier—mitochondrial science—where breakthroughs have the potential to redefine health and medicine.

Designing, Developing and Implementing Systems Level Access for Learning

Supporting Learners Scalable Math Access

Meeting Every Learner Where They Are

NLET supports learners, and those who serve them, with student centric, technology enhanced approaches. We help educators better understand the learners they serve and deploy targeted, on demand, and holistic support to improve educational outcomes.

Credentialing Learners Equitable Access to Work

Redefining Credentials to Lead the Education-to-Employment Transformation

Credentials are gaining ground against roadblocks between the diplomas and degrees offered by schools and higher education and what specific knowledge and skills the learners can demonstrate to employers.

Engaging Learners STEM Frontiers Outreach

Cutting Edge Changes in Concepts of the Universe & Life

NLET is doing ground-breaking work in pushing the communication and outreach forefronts of biology, bio-medical research and in understanding the physics and wonder of the universe. Deep connections to evolving knowledge is grows curiosity and create passion.

Accelerating Talent Education to Employment

Meeting Every Learner Where They Are

Talent acceleration means leaving behind the sole idea that schools and institutions drive paths to employment. NLET partners with leading provides of public-facing web and mobile systems that seamlessly connect education, training and employment in modern consumer supported experiences.

Improvement

Equitable access and outcomes in education can be accomplished through hard work of continuous Improvement within the current educational model. Essentially, do what we have been doing, just do it better with incremental change, testing for improved efficiencies and effectiveness as we go. NLET works with institutions, non-profits and ed tech providers to improve existing models through continuous improvement. The Carnegie Foundation provides a valuable synopsis of the principles of incremental improvement necessary to drive equitable outcomes in education.

Innovation

If improvement is doing things better, innovation is doing things differently to accelerate change. Schools and educators are currently bombarded with pitches about significant innovations designed to improve student learning and document everything from preschool creativity and problem solving to college ready math. High impact implementation of innovative approaches involves careful consideration of the evidence supporting the approach and a complete understanding of the fidelity of implementation it requires. NLET and its partners are committed to advancing equitable outcomes in education through careful, yet courageous exploration and adoption of innovative practices and tools. The Open University in the UK provides a recent and insightful overview of recent evidence-based educational innovations.

Transformation

Transformation implies systemic and sustainable change in the core practices and culture of an institution or sector of education. Transformation has occurred when multiple innovations scale across entire learning environments resulting in equitable access to positive educational outcomes. Transformation requires system thinking and the integration of innovation-led improvements at all levels within an organization. It also takes time and patience. NLET’s commitment to innovatively supporting students and credentialing their skills and knowledge is focused on transforming education, for as long as it takes. In 2015 Education-Reimagined constructed a lens into the systemic mindset necessary to transform education. David Andrews, NLET President was proud to contribute to the vision and be a signatory on the foundational paper.
